CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT cum musician Rebbeca Manford has roped in the Midas Touch of veteran gospel musician Father Amos Mahendere in her debut single titled Makandinakira.
The song was released Monday and received rave reviews in the first week of release.
The song is a praise song where she is counting all her blessings including the academic achievements which made her one of the youngest female chartered accountants in the country.
Being a motivational speaker in her other life, it was easy for her to come up with lyrics pregnant with praise and motivation.
In an interview this week, Manford said she cut her teeth in music at high school when she became a member of the Chapel Choir at Arundel High.
” It is at high school that I developed a talent in music and having being raised in a Christian home I naturally fell for gospel music genre,” she said .
She added that owes her growth to her choir director Roz Whaley whom she described as “very talented and strict” compelling to to target perfection along with fellow members.
In her musical journey she has been a member of an outfit called the Madrigals.
She is currently a member of The Marden Singers, a choir comprising of her church members.
In 2016, she released her first studio single which however did not get much limelight.
Between 2017-2020 Manford “I then underwent a lot of personal issues that resulted in taking a break from music, but in 2021 I begun working on a project with some of the best producers in the land and here we are,but the journey continues,” she narrated.
The latest single is accompanied with equally impressive visuals directed by Mr Hasty and available on You Tube.
