A Chipinge teacher, Gladys Pisirai (37) is appealing for US$11 626 from well-wishers to undergo open heart surgery in India.

She suffered a severe Rheumatic heart and is always in immense pain, Chipinge Times was told.

An earlier attempt in January this year failed after she went to India and doctors failed to perform the operation because she was then discovered to be suffering from Covid pneumonia.

The heart problem comes with severe mitral stenosis and Pisirai’s condition has been deteriorating forcing her to transfer to a school close to an urban area.

She has since stopped going to school because of the problem and cannot do house chores anymore. She can’t look after her four children.

If done, her mitral valve will be replaced with a mechanical one.

She was diagnosed with chronic rheumatic valve injury with Mitral valve disease and Atrial Aortic Regurgitation consequent in February last year.

Well-wishers can contact her husband Lovemore Pisirai on 0772 225 274 and the eco cash number: 0773 731 750.Bank details: CBZ -10124317530010 (RTGS Account) and the Nostro Account:10124317530020
