A man who failed to control his se_xual appetite pounced on his ex-lover before assaulting her and dragging her to his place, where he locked her in his bedroom and rap_ed her.

The incident happened on Monday shortly after 6pm in Pumula East suburb.

Christopher Siyagwena (35) allegedly visited his ex-girlfriend at her home and demanded se_x and his ex-flame reportedly refused to have se_x with him, said the source.

Christopher was determined to be in between the sheets with her, so he grabbed her by her hand before he punched her several times in the face. As if that was not enough he strangled her and violently pushed her against the wall of the house.

The source went on to say after that, he threatened to kill her and forced-marched her to his place.

“When they got to his home, there was no one. He then instructed her to enter his bedroom. Soon after that he rap_ed her. He also se_xually assaulted her during the night and after that he fell asleep,” he said.

The following day at around 7am, he locked his ex-lover in his bedroom and went to buy meat and bread at the shops.

His ex-lover exploited the opportunity and sneaked out of the bedroom and went to report the matter at Pumula Police Station, leading to the arrest of Christopher.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident and urged community members to seek treatment within 72 hours so that they will be able to get Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) to prevent contracting the HIV virus and other se_xually transmitted infections.

This is also done so that victims could be offered counselling.
