Miracle in Hwange: Elderly Woman Escapes Elephant’s Fury

In a harrowing incident, an elderly woman in Hwange, Zimbabwe, narrowly escaped death when a rogue elephant destroyed her kitchen hut under the cover of darkness. Gogo Ndlovu, from Chidobe Village, was lucky to have been asleep with her family when the elephant snuck into their homestead, tearing down the kitchen structure.

The family was oblivious to the danger that lurked outside their doors, and it was only when a neighbor stopped by to warn them about the elephant’s movement that they realized the gravity of the situation. The elderly woman’s kitchen lay in ruins, a testament to the elephant’s destructive power.

The incident has left the community in shock, with local leaders calling for urgent action to manage the stray elephant population. As the elderly woman counts her blessings for escaping with her life, the question remains: what will it take for the authorities to address this growing concern?
