Meet Temba Mliswa, the Man Who Can’t Stay Out of Controversy

Temba Mliswa is spilling the beans on corruption in Mashonaland West Province, and it’s a real scandal. Minister Marian Chombo and top police officials are accused of running a corrupt network, using President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s name to avoid accountability. Chombo allegedly intervened in a land program, swapping allocated names with those who paid her for favors, with Mliswa claiming to have documentary evidence to support these claims.

The corruption allegedly goes beyond land scandals, with Chombo and her friends implicated in a mining syndicate exploiting protected land and disturbing wildlife. They claim to have presidential authorization, but Mliswa isn’t buying it, and hopefully, President Mnangagwa isn’t involved in this mess.

Chombo’s ex-husband, Ignatius Chombo, has a history of amassing wealth through corruption, with 98 properties, 15 vehicles, including Toyota Land Cruisers and Mercedes Benz, and 10 commercial companies.

Given the National Prosecuting Authority’s past actions, there’s hope for justice. For instance, they’ve arrested high-profile individuals, such as Sibongile Mphindwa, the Mashonaland West acting provincial mining director, for abuse of power, and Assistant Commissioner Conelli Dube for protecting junior officers implicated in bribery cases. The anti-corruption unit is also opposing bail for the Provincial Mining Director due to potential witness interference. Let’s see if they’ll take action this time.
