Manchester City kept the Premier League title race alive with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace, moving back to within two points of leaders Arsenal heading into the final stretch of the season.
With one eye on the upcoming FA Cup final against Chelsea, manager Pep Guardiola made six changes to his starting lineup, leaving out key attacking stars including Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku.
Despite the rotation, City still had too much quality — and it was Phil Foden who stole the show.
The England midfielder delivered a brilliant backheel assist for Antoine Semenyo to open the scoring before creating another goal for Omar Marmoush, who finished smartly to double City’s advantage.
Late in the second half, Savinho added a third to seal the victory and maintain pressure on Arsenal at the top.
Foden’s display was especially important given his recent struggles for regular starts. The 25-year-old made only his third start in City’s last 13 matches but reminded everyone of his quality with two outstanding assists and an energetic all-round performance.
City were also boosted by the return of defender Josko Gvardiol, who featured for the first time since January after recovering from a broken shinbone.
For Palace, the defeat continues a worrying run of league form, with no wins in their last five matches. However, manager Oliver Glasner appears focused on the club’s upcoming Europa Conference League final, prioritising freshness ahead of their biggest game in years.
The title race, meanwhile, remains alive — but Arsenal still control their own destiny. City have done their job for now, and the pressure swings back to the Gunners once again.
