A DoorDash driver’s late-night shift took a hair-raising turn when they arrived at an address in the dead of night (2 a.m.) to deliver a McDonald’s order. Following instructions to “leave it on the welcome mat,” the driver approached what they thought was a residence , only to discover a cemetery gate with a headstone bearing the customer’s name Williams.
“I shone my flashlight and BOOM, there it was,” the driver recounted, laughing nervously. “I dropped that bag so fast, took a pic, and ran back to my car.” Just as they fled, a text arrived: “You forgot my drink.” The driver’s terror peaked when they noticed the beverage missing from the passenger seat. “At that point, I said nope… and drove away,” they admitted.
Despite the ordeal, the order remained marked “in progress” on the app. The driver had to manually cancel it via customer service. “Still got a 5-star rating, though,” they joked.
DoorDash has yet to comment on the bizarre mix-up. The driver’s advice? “Double-check addresses before_delivering to a grave.”
Even ghosts demand their fries .
