Saymore Mhene, a well-known businessman and political heavyweight at 48, and owner of Bestdue Driving School, has found himself in the legal spotlight—not as a plaintiff, but as the victim—after an alleged assault by a married duo. The drama is currently unfolding at the Bindura Magistrates’ Court.
The plot thickened when Mhene was coaxed to the home of 43-year-old Triphiner Gwafa, aka “Mai Nga,” under the guise of a private meeting. Mai Nga is married to 46-year-old Tondera Matukanzvimbo, and the couple, backed by Pride Psychology Dzapasi of Takaindisa Law Chambers, stands accused of teaming up for a less-than-friendly welcome.
Court documents reveal that Mhene’s initial bait was a simple text: “hey uripi…..” On the fateful day, he parked at a service station and strolled to their place, unknowingly stepping into what some might call a well-laid trap.
Inside the house, Mai Nga allegedly whipped out her phone to start recording the unfolding saga. She claims Mhene followed her into the bedroom, slipped off his shoes, gingerly placed his phones on a pillow, and declared he was there to “fulfil a dream” — one where she was crying over being “s£x-starved.”
According to Mai Nga, Mhene then began caressing her legs and urged her to “move on” from her marriage. Just then, her husband and brother-in-law burst in, confiscated Mhene’s phones and jacket, and launched the assault.
Not one to hold back, Mai Nga is accused of joining the fray—wielding a broomstick and slapping Mhene repeatedly. The skirmish, partially caught on video, quickly went viral in Bindura, turning the incident into the talk of the town.
Mhene insists the beating started even before the cameras rolled and has sustained injuries backed by a medical report soon to be presented in court.
In a twist, Mai Nga told reporters that Mhene’s romantic pursuits weren’t new—dating back years to when their sons were schoolmates at Mazowe Boys High. She added that after reuniting with her husband in 2021 following a four-year separation, Mhene revived his “sex-starvation” dream and refused to take no for an answer.
As the courtroom drama continues to unfold, all eyes remain glued to Bindura, waiting to see how this tangled tale resolves.
