Betrayal , Healing and Tattos

Memory Mahwita, a Zimbabwean woman living in the UK, has shared a heartbreaking story of betrayal and pain. Her sister got into a relationship with her husband, leaving Memory traumatized and struggling to cope.

Memory’s life was already filled with challenges. One of her children is fighting cancer, and the other has autism. The betrayal by her sister and husband added to her emotional pain, leaving her feeling overwhelmed.

In an emotional interview on DJ Ollah’s podcast, Memory revealed that she turned to tattoos as a way to cope with her pain. “When I get cut and see the blood, I feel a sense of relief. It’s the only way I feel alive,” she said. However, many listeners expressed concern about her well-being and encouraged her to seek professional help.

Memory has found solace in attending masowe, a traditional Zimbabwean spiritual gathering. “I go to masowe for healing and peace of mind. The church accepts me, even with my tattoos and piercings,” she said. While this has brought her some comfort, it’s clear that Memory’s journey to healing is ongoing.

To women going through similar experiences, Memory’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of seeking help and prioritizing self-care. Counseling and therapy can provide a safe space to process emotions and work towards healing. It’s essential for those struggling to reach out for support and give themselves time to heal.
