SIX people were killed in a road traffic accident on Thursday just outside Karoi, Mashonaland West province.
The crash, which occurred near Magunje turnoff along the Harare-Chirundu highway, involved a van and a haulage truck.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the tragedy.
“ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident, which occurred on April 17, 2025 at around 1130 hours at the 214 km peg along Harare-Chirundu Road in which six people were killed.
“A haulage truck with no passengers on board was involved in a head-on collision with a Nissan NV 150 vehicle with five passengers on board,” said Nyathi.
The bodies of the victims were taken to Karoi Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
