The recent death of musician Tatenda Pinjisi at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital has sparked outrage and highlighted the dire state of Zimbabwe’s healthcare system. Pinjisi passed away on Sunday due to injuries sustained in an accident near the Norton Tollgate.

At his last moments ,Pinjisi  is  said to have been pleading for Pain-eeze, a basic pain reliever, which the hospital couldn’t provide. To make matters worse, the hospital was experiencing a power outage, forcing nurses to use their phones to light up the room.

This incident raises serious questions about the country’s healthcare infrastructure and the government’s priorities. How can a hospital lack basic medications and electricity? The fact that nurses had to improvise with their phones is a stark reminder of the system’s failures.
