11-Year-Old Boy Takes His Own Life in Filabusi

A heartbreaking incident has shaken the community of Filabusi, Matabeleland South, after an 11-year-old boy, Junior Moyo, took his own life. The young boy was found dead in his bedroom at Singwango Number 1 Primary School cottages, where he lived with his guardian, Nonhlanhla Moyo, a teacher at the school.

According to reports, Junior had been struggling to cope with his emotions after returning from South Africa, where his parents reside. He had expressed a desire to return to them, but despite efforts to console him, his mental state remained fragile.

The police confirmed that no foul play was suspected, and investigations are ongoing. Inspector Chiratidzo Dube emphasized the importance of parents and guardians being vigilant about children’s mental health, providing counseling and support when needed.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing children’s emotional well-being and seeking professional help when necessary. Junior’s passing has left his community in shock, and his loved ones are grappling with the devastating loss.
